The primary goals of the association are to:

  1. Be open to and promote any Waiver Support Coordinator in the State of Florida becoming a member of the Association.
  2. Develop a relationship with individuals, their families, the State of Florida Agency for persons with Disabilities (APD), ACHA, legislators and other service providers that promotes working together to the benefit of the developmentally disabled population of the state.
  3. Reduce the number of individuals on a waiver support coordinator’s caseload to come closer to the national average for a standard caseload, with rate of pay accordingly, and a job description that is reasonable and represents effective Waiver Support Coordination / case management.
  4. Adhere to the Waiver Support Coordinator’s Code of Ethical Conduct as a means of self-regulation.
  5. Work to establish consistency in rule interpretation and administration thereof throughout the Regions of APD in the state.
  6. Establish a method for getting information to and from all Waiver Support Coordinators to advance the sharing of ideas, processes, and procedures.
  7. Establish and expand the Association’s advisory status with the State of Florida’s APD, the Legislature, and other appropriate advocacy and advisory groups.
  8. Support the needs of other Waiver providers in the State.
  9. Support and assist in the development of local region membership groups of the Waiver Support Coordination Association of Florida.
